Telehealth:
Erika Coppen, LPC-MHSP has been personally effected by health issues since 2020, and so has found it necessary to make her Caseload smaller and has found that using Telehealth, as the primary modality 905 of the time for seeing clients, has made it easier to continue seeing her Existing Clients on a regular basis.
Seeing clients in-person is occasionally an option and must be decided on a day-by-day basis and Case-by-Case basis. *She apologizes very sincerely for any inconvenience that this may cause. We are all having to adapt, cope, and make the best of this situation.
What is Telehealth?:
*Telehealth is videoconferencing that you can very easily and simply do securely from the comfort of your own home/automobile/work thru a computer with a webcam or smartphone (by using a web-link or the "Telehealth by SimplePractice" app).
*"Telehealth by Simple Practice" is a HIPPA- Compliant and Encrypted telehealth videoconferencing service which is she has paid for you to use at no additional cost to you.
Most insurance plans & EAP's have been good about reimbursing for Telehealth due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you are NOT sure if your Insurance Network & Specific Plan STILL reimburses for Telehealth, please do call them and Ask them.
Tell them what you, as the customer, want, which to continue to have the Option of being able to have Psychotherapy via Telehealth if you Want to/ Need to.
Clients have actually found Telehealth to not only be incredibly Convenient and Beneficial. Here are some Benefits of using Telehealth (instead of In-Person) that clients have reported:
+ No fighting traffic to go to an in-person office
+ Easier to schedule when only have an hour or less Break in your day (ex: Lunch Break; After School but Before Work/Extra-curricular activities).
+ Therapy can take place pretty much anywhere (home, car, school in a quiet location, outside).
+ Less having to decide between your Own Self-Care and the Caregiving of others.
+ Less physically demanding than in-person because you can stay at home (esp. helpful if you are ill, caring for an ill family member, or having to do Childcare).
+ Clients have also enjoyed being able to use the Telehealth camera to share meaningful aspects of their lives with their therapist (ex: their home, their gardens, bedroom decorations, pets, their automobile, their hobbies).
+ Makes it easier to create specific in-vivo interventions that are only possible to do in the location where the client is physically located and interacting with people and things that are located there.
